Course Overview

This one day, instructor led course is designed to provide federal financial personnel with an understanding of the financial management of business operations in government, including reimbursables and revolving funds. Participants will learn the differences between business operations and activities funded by appropriations and gain an understanding of the budget and execution process. Through challenging analytical exercises, participants will learn how to charter and execute a revolving fund, navigate different budgeting phases, and analyze financial data of a revolving fund or reimbursable. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the financial processes of Business Operations and determine how that funding is different for funding for appropriations
  • Use Federal Appropriations correctly
  • Review Federal budgeting and execution processes
  • Describe the roles and responsibilities of federal financial management professionals.
  • Analyze the Federal Financial lifecycle and phases
  • Ensure compliance related to current laws as they apply to revolving and reimbursable funds
  • Utilize Financial data to provide analysis and make informed decisions
