Can I Receive IT Training Courseware before the Class Date?

At Phoenix TS our Training and Certification Consultants field a number of questions from interested students about the training courses. This extremely important question is detrimental for a student’s success as they prepare to take a certification exam for whatever training course they attend.

The simple answer is yes, but read on to learn about how you can grab the books ahead of time.

Having the courseware for a class provides a huge advantage for a student. The extra time with a textbook gives you the chance to read the material before class, reflect on new concepts, tinker with tools, and start studying for a certification exam.

Ask your Training Consultant

Reach out to your point of contact which is the Training and Certification Consultant. If you paid for the training fully prior to the class date, you can receive the courseware. Once we verify the details the Training Consultant requests the relevant textbook from our Training Coordinators.

Receiving courseware: Mail or Swing by PTS

The local students near Columbia, MD can stop by, say hi, grab a cup of coffee and pick up their books. If you live outside the immediate area or don’t have time in your busy schedule to make a trip over here, then we can mail you the courseware.

Read it once, read it twice, and then train

An old college professor of mine said, “You don’t begin to know a book until the 2nd or 3rd time you read it.” I believe this is why having courseware ahead of the scheduled class date is essential. I live by the above quote when learning new material. Also, whether you prefer an eReader friendly version or traditional books, interact with them. I mark up books with a good blue pen, but pencils, sticky notes, and highlighters get the job done. When you engage with books, you tend to retain the content better.
