Phoenix TS Becomes USO Proud Patriots Club Member

Phoenix TS recently pledged their monthly support to the USO’s Proud Patriots Club. Through their contribution, Phoenix TS will be providing financial support for programs specific to the United States military and their families.

Phoenix TS has been committed to serving our nation’s military since the company’s beginning through providing military specific management, computer and IT training classes and participating in programs geared towards military members and their spouses, such as MyCAA. Phoenix TS decided to join the USO Proud Patriots as another way to express continued support for the efforts of the U.S. military and appreciation for all they have done for this nation.

History of the United Services Organizations (USO)

The USO began in 1941 under the direction of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in order to provide emotional support for troops during war. Over time the USO has grown to provide not just emotional support but the comforts of home to U.S. military and their families around the world. The organization realizes all of the sacrifices made not just by military members but by their spouses and children and strives to provide them with as much comfort and a sense of normalcy as possible.

USO Programs

Their mission to provide a sense of “home away from home” for serving military and their families is realized though a number of innovative programs such as:

• Free phone calls
• Entertainment tours
• Care packages
• Long distance bedtime stories

Additionally, military and families located on various bases around the world receive private screenings of movies and concerts through the efforts of USO employees and volunteers. Donations also send military children to camps and families affected by trauma on healing retreats.

The USO operates solely from the generosity of others either in the form of donors, and volunteers or through fundraising efforts. By committing to a monthly donation, Phoenix TS is helping to provide a sense of financial security for the organization. Commitment to the Proud Patriots Club allows the USO to concentrate more on providing their programs to troops around the world instead of using limited resources for fundraising efforts.
