Course Overview
Welcome to this training course on Federal Resume Writing. Writing a winning resume is the key to landing interviews and gaining access to new job opportunities. In this course, you will learn where to find Federal career opportunities, how to read vacancy announcements, and how to write an effective resume that will capture critical information that hiring managers and HR representatives are looking for. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between a private sector resume and federal resume.
- Locate job announcements through a variety of sources.
- Successfully apply for jobs on USAJobs.
- Navigate the USAJobs website in general to maximize the user experience, including creating profiles, saving resumes, and creating saved searches.
- Recognize the different hiring paths to federal employment.
- Identify best practices, tips, and guidelines for creating attention-grabbing federal resumes.
